Capital Projects

Capital projects are any renovation and repair project or new construction that costs more than $1,000,000 for architectural or engineering projects. These projects require approval from the Board of Regents and the state's Legislature before the project can begin. These projects are tracked on the Kansas Board of Regent's Five Year Capital Improvement Request. A Capital Improvement Project begins with a program that identifies the cost, and scope of the project and why it is needed to support the mission of the University and college or department requesting the work done. The staff of the Campus Planning and Facilities Management Department work with the college or departments to identify the programmatic needs for these projects.
