The mission of Custodial Services is to provide a safe, sanitary and functional interior environment for the staff, students and faculty of Kansas State University. Custodial Services attends to the interior quality of the approximately seventy-five academic buildings on campus. These buildings contain almost 2.5 million square feet of floor space which is made up of classrooms, offices, laboratories, arenas, restrooms, libraries, corridors, theatres, service and delivery areas and mechanical spaces.

Custodial Services has over 100 permanent employees on staff. Additionally, numerous student and temporary employees are retained during the year. Custodial Services also has responsibility for solid waste collection and disposal, pest control, recycling, support to special events and maintenance in the Peters Recreation Complex, Ahearn Recreational Complex and Natatorium.
