Campus Master Plan
Auto circulation
To improve pedestrian safety, public access automobile circulation will move to the edges of the Kansas State University campus. Loop roads and cul-de-sacs will provide public access to essential sections of the campus. A specialized service for disabled individuals will continue to provide access in close proximity to buildings where they work, study or visit. There is a new proposal to close Claflin Road to through traffic and create a new east-west through street at Jardine Drive. Not only does this improve pedestrian and bicycle safety, it also allows for contiguous campus growth and defines the core campus boundaries.
