The purpose of this label is to replace the
shipper form and
save time when shipping your packages through Central Mail Services. Each department can order these labels from Printing Services.
- Barcode - Indicates your departmental meter account code. CMS
scans the barcode into our accounting system, thus avoiding human errors
on account numbers.
- Return Address - Indicates your official departmental return
address along with your departmental meter account number. Indicates who
to return the package to in the case of a returned package.
- Domestic mail - This category pertains to mail or packages going
through the United States Postal Service. Mark one (1).
- First Class - All personal correspondence.
- Library Mail - Educational material going from and to an
educational
institution.
- Parcels 16 oz+ - Discounted bulk mail parcels.
- International Mail - This category is for United States Postal
Service mail going overseas. Mark one (1) either Airmail (7 to 10
days) or Surface (6 to 8 weeks).
Package value and contents - Contents and value are required on
customs forms. If your package needs insurance, place the amount in the
Special Services area below. Customs forms are required on all overseas
packages over 16 ounces, regardless of whether they are a box or a flat.
- Letter/letter package - Mark if your mail includes personal
hand-written or type-written current communication.
- Printed matter - Mark if your mail is all printed matter other
than books, sheet music, and publisher's periodicals.
- Parcel Post - Packages over 16 ounces containing anything else
other than what is listed above.
- Special services - Mark one (1) except for return receipt. In
order to have a return receipt, you must either insure, register, certify,
or send express mail. Express mail is for overnight or two (2) day
service.
- UPS - Indicates United Parcel Service ground service.
