Peer Tutors

Educational Supportive Services hires peer tutors to provides individualized tutorial assistance to students that can help them develop the academic and study skills necessary for success in the college classroom. We offer tutorial services for courses at all undergraduate levels.

Job Description\Qualifications

Academic peer tutors work with students on a one-on-one or small group basis. The main expectation is to support or supplement regular classroom instruction. Peer tutors report to the ESS Academic Services Coordinator. 

We are currently hiring tutors for the following subjects:

  • Accounting (All Levels)
  • Biology (All Levels)
  • Economics (All Levels)
  • Geography (All Levels)
  • Geology (All Levels)
  • History (All Levels)
  • Statistics (All Levels)
  • Math (All Levels)
  • Chemistry (All Levels)
  • Physics (All Levels)
  • Foreign Languages (All Levels)
  • Sociology (All Levels)


Graduate Assistant:

Hours: 10-20 a week

Pay: $10/hour

Description: Position will assist the Academic Services Coordinator and the Student Services Coordinator of Educational Supportive Services (ESS) with programming to serve low-income, first generation, and disabled students (see ksu.edu/ess). ESS will adapt the position to suit the skill set of the hired graduate student. Currently, we're looking for someone who can assist with one or more of the following areas: 

  • social media management
  • promotional materials creation (print, film, web)
  • college success workshops, mentoring students
  • data analysis to create targeted programming
  • researching scholarship opportunities
  • working one-to-one with disabled students
  • and more...
