Jeffrey S. Hornsby, Ph.D., SPHR is the Jack Vanier Distinguished Chair in Innovation and Entrepreneurship , Director of the K-State Center for the Advancement of Entrepreneurship, and Professor of Management at Kansas State University. His research has concentrated in the areas of corporate entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial motivation, compensation, teambuilding, and human resource management practices for emerging and entrepreneurial businesses. He has authored or co-authored over 110 refereed journal and proceedings articles appearing in the Journal of Applied Psychology, Strategic Management Journal, Academy of Management Executive, Journal of Operations Management, Journal of Business Venturing, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, Group and Organizational Management, Journal of Small Business Management, and the Journal of Business and Psychology. His research has earned three conference �best paper awards.� Dr. Hornsby has coauthored three books entitled: New Venture Management: The Entrepreneur�s Roadmap, The Human Resource Function in Emerging Enterprises, and Frontline HR: A Handbook for the Emerging Manager.Dr. Hornsby is certified by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) as a Senior Professional in Human Resource Management (SPHR) and is Level 3 certified in Simplex Creative Problem Solving.

Before his appointment at Kansas State, Dr. Hornsby served as the George and Frances Ball Distinguished Professor of Management at Ball State University where he won several teaching and research awards including the Dean�s Teaching Award for ten consecutive years and the Ball State University 2004 Outstanding Faculty Award.
