Instructors for the Young Writers' Workshop (2017)

We are seeking three instructors for the 2017 Young Writers' Workshop summer program.  Requirements: Work full-time with middle-school-aged students, 8:00am-5:00pm, including lunch supervision, June 26-30, and part-time with program director one week earlier (June 19-23) to set up program.  Duties include assisting with set-up and take-down each workshop day, generating and leading writing activities, lesson planning, and program assessment. Honorarium: $1,500. Current graduate students in English or related programs encouraged to apply; previous teaching experience preferred.  Applicants with experience with middle-school students will be strongly considered.  We encourage applicants from underrepresented groups and with a proven commitment to diversity.

Program Assistant for the Young Writers' Workshop (2017)

We are seeking a program assistant for the 2017 Young Writers' Workshop summer program.  Requirements: Duties include assisting with program set-up, communicating with parents and visiting authors, writing social media posts, photographing program activities, arranging deliveries with vendors, and collecting and organizing program assessment data.  Part-time for the weeks of June 19-23 and July 3-7, full-time June 26-30. Honorarium: $1,500. Applicants should have strong communication, multimedia, and computer skills.  Undergraduates and graduate students at Kansas State in English or related fields encouraged to apply; work experience may be used for ENGL 495 or 797 internship credit. We encourage applicants from underrepresented groups and with a proven commitment to diversity.
