TRAVEL:
Manhattan is approximately 2 1/2 hours' drive from the nearest major airport, which is in Kansas City (airport code MCI). To get from Kansas City to Manhattan, you can either take the Roadrunner Express Shuttle (about $89 round trip or $49 one-way) or rent a car at the airport. To make a reservation with Roadrunner, call 800-826-8294 (toll-free), 785-537-2080, or 785-238-6161.
It is also possible to fly directly into Manhattan on US Air and on Midwest Express. They WERE offering flights for $100 (not including tax), although fuel surcharges have increased this price. If you are flying internationally, it might be helpful to note that US Air has had an agreement with British Air which may make it easier to fly into Manhattan.
