Fields of interest:
16th and 17th century poetry and drama, Medieval Poetry, Cultural Studies, Fiction.

D.K. Smith has published articles on Andrew Marvell's poetry, the influence of changing cartographic epistemologies on 15th-century drama, and the function of sexual humor in the Anglo-Saxon riddles of the 10th-century Exeter book. He is the author of one scholarly book, The Cartographic Imagination in Early Modern England, and two novels, Missing Persons and Nothing Disappears. His current research focuses on Elizabethan lyric poetry of the 1590s, while his teaching interests include Medieval and Renaissance poetry, early English Drama, and Anglo-Saxon language and literature.
