Fields of interest:
20th Century American Literature; African-American Literature.

Larry Rodgers is currently Associate Dean of Arts and Sciences. In addition to his administrative duties, he teaches classes in twentieth-century American fiction, African-American literature, and American regional writing. He is the author of Canaan Bound: The African American Great Migration Novel (Illinois, 1997). His recent publications include new editions with introductions of works by Edna Ferber (Roast Beef, Medium and Fannie Herself), Booth Tarkington (The Turmoil), Edwin Lanham (The Stricklands), and Sanora Babb (Whose Names Are Unknown). He has a book forthcoming in 2008 on the public folklorist B.A. Botkin.
