Ann Reckling holds an MFA from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, and is a former fiction editor of The Iowa Review. As a screenwriter she has written for the MTM television series St. Elsewhere and was a story editor at Paramount Studios. A production of her play The Social Life of Loons is forthcoming at the American Theatre for Actors in New York. In progress is an epistolary novel about entropy.

In her teaching Ann explores Modernism’s influence on drama, Marxist readings of Irish literature and film, formal components of screenwriting and poetry, and feminist investigations of iconic television characters.
