Fields of interest:
Children's and Adolescent Literature; American Literature.
Anne K. Phillips specializes in American children's and adolescent literature. She has published in Children's Literature, The Lion and the Unicorn, and The Children's Literature Association Quarterly. She is the coeditor of Children's Literature 21 (Yale UP, 1993). She and Gregory Eiselein have coedited The Louisa May Alcott Encyclopedia (Greenwood, 2001); they are also preparing a Norton Critical Edition of Alcott's Little Women. She is also pursuing a research interest in mid-twentieth century American children's literature and its depiction of the American homefront. Currently the Assistant Department Head, Anne chaired the Children's Literature Division of the MLA in 1999; in addition, she is serving on the Board of Directors of the Children's Literature Association.
