Robert J. Vanderbei's 2004 Presidential Election: Purple America. Breaks down the red-blue binarism by taking the election results county by county, and blending "red" votes with "blue" votes. Some places stay red, some stay blue, but most turn different shades of purple.

* There are, of course, other "third-party" candidates. Why list only these two? (1) Because they receive the most press. (2) Because Nader's candidacy is thought to be drawing votes away from Kerry's candidacy, and Badnarik's candidacy is thought to be drawing votes away from Bush's candidacy.
