Enrolling in ENGL 355: Literature for Children

Spring 2010


Enrollment begins Monday, 26th October, 2009

Permission slips will be issued starting Monday, 18th October, at 8 a.m.


Only Senior and Junior Elementary Education and Early Childhood Majors

will be given permission before 30th October.

Sophomores majoring in Elementary Education or Early Childhood and Majors in other disciplines are encouraged to request permission before, but will not be given permission until 30th October, to give preference to Senior and Junior Elementary Education and Early Childhood majors.


To Get Permission to Enroll:

  1. Go to the English Department Office (English/Counseling Services Bldg 108) during office hours (M-F; 8-5).
  2. Complete the "Request for Permission to Enroll" form available from the English Department Office (108 English/Counseling Services Bldg).
  3. Put the "Request for Permission to Enroll" form in the Instructor's Mailbox in 119 English/Counseling Services Bldg.
  4. Wait to learn via e-mail that you have been given permission to enroll. You may now enroll in the course using KATS.

We will need to have the following information about you in order to issue permission:

  1. Name, student identification number, and current class standing (FR, SO, JR, SR).
  2. College-level literature (not writing) courses you have taken BEYOND Expository Writing I and II.
  3. Phone number(s) and/or e-mail address.
  4. Reference number and day/time of the class you wish to take.

Note: College of Education curricula REQUIRE a college-level literature class before taking ENGL 355: Literature for Children; literature classes taken concurrently with ENGL 355 are acceptable.
