Graduate Faculty

Participate in Graduate School Commencement Ceremony on Friday, May 11

Graduate faculty are encouraged to attend the Graduate School Spring Commencement Ceremony on Friday, May 11 in Bramlage Coliseum. Hooding and non-hooding faculty who are interested in participating are encouraged to register their attendance no later than May 4. Academic regalia must be worn and may be reserved through the K-State Campus Store.

Call for nominations: 2018-19 Commerce Bank and WT Kemper Foundation Distinguished Graduate Faculty Award 

The Commerce Bank and WT Kemper Foundation Distinguished Graduate Faculty Award honors current members of the graduate faculty who are recognized nationally and internationally for their outstanding scholarly achievements and for their contributions to graduate education at the university. Recipients of the award will receive an honorarium, are recognized during the fall Graduate School commencement ceremony and during a public lecture to the campus community. Submission deadline is May 1. 

GSC Awards and Recognition Reception

The annual GSC Awards and Recognition Reception was held last night, April 23rd. Approximately 150 graduate students were recognized for a variety of accomplishments.  View the event program to see which graduate students were recognized.


Graduate Program Directors

Call for nominations: Distinguished Thesis and Distinguished Dissertation Awards

The Graduate School is now accepting nominations for the MAGS/ProQuest Distinguished Thesis Award and the CGS/ProQuest Distinguished Dissertation Award. This year’s award categories are 1) Engineering, Mathematics, and Physical Sciences and 2) Social Sciences. Each graduate program may submit one nomination for the thesis award and one nomination for the dissertation award. Please visit the award webpages for more information. Nominations must be submitted to the Graduate School, 119 Eisenhower Hall, or via email to Megan Miller (mmmiller@ksu.edu) no later than 5:00 p.m. on May 1, 2018.

Graduate Student Council Travel Award Recipients

Graduate students who have been allocated a GSC travel award for conferences and other professional activities in June are posted on the GSC travel awards website.

Graduate Student Council Ice Cream Social

In celebration of Graduate Student Appreciation Month, the Graduate Student Council will host an ice cream social for K-State graduate students.  Graduate students are invited to stop by the west entrance to Eisenhower Hall between 3:00-4:30pm today, April 24, to enjoy Call Hall ice cream and network with their peers.

Applications being accepted for the 2018 Science Communication Fellows Program

Through a series of professional development workshops and public engagement activities, fellows gain effective science communication skills. The program runs May 2018-February 2019. Application deadline is April 27 at 5 p.m.

April is Graduate Student Appreciation Month

Happy Graduate Student Appreciation Month! Check out what the departments, colleges, Graduate School and Graduate Student Council are doing for graduate students.

International Graduation Celebration

The K-State Alumni Association will honor international students graduating in May, August, and December 2018 at the International Graduation Celebration on Wednesday, April 25. The celebration will take place at 4 p.m. in the K-State Alumni Center’s Ballroom and will feature free food, drinks, and prizes. 

GSC Travel Awards Deadline

May 1 is the deadline to apply for GSC travel awards for events that begin in July. 

Grad Bash

The K-State Alumni Association invites students graduating in May and August 2018 to say farewell to their last days as students and hello to life as K-State alumni at Grad Bash on Thursday, May 3. Grad Bash will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Alumni Center and will feature free food, drinks, and live music!
