Agnes Chikanne Gyurko: Instructor
I remember playing school with my dolls even before I started school, so I always wanted to be a teacher. I received my Master’s degree in Biology and ESL in Hungary. After I worked in a bilingual high school, a Fulbright Teacher Exchange Scholarship brought me and my husband to Oregon, where I taught Biology. Then I worked an ESL teacher at Manhattan High School, while my husband was a PhD student. After living in California for a short time, we moved back here. I have two children, who are both bilingual. I enjoy reading, gardening, and interacting with people from all over the world. I am always ready for a good discussion or for a cup of coffee!
