I was born in Eastern Siberia, Russia but grew up on the Kola Peninsula which lies almost completely to the north of the Arctic Circle. Even though I am used to the cold weather, I enjoy the hot summers in Kansas. I have been teaching English since 2002. My career started with teaching English for Specific Purposes in the American Studies Department at Irkutsk State Linguistics University in Russia. While being an instructor there, I won a government grant to continue my education in the U.S. That is how I came to K-State. The first time I started teaching at Kansas State University was in 2008. Three years later, I left to teach business English in Moscow, Russia. I returned to Kansas in July 2013, and I am excited to be back to the ELP.
My hobbies include reading, traveling, and exploring new cultures.
