Mr. Rice has been working with international university students as either a counselor
or a teacher since 1971. He has traveled widely in Europe and East Asia. He has extensive
experience teaching general ESL classes at colleges and schools in Japan for 20 years
and specialized in advanced academic writing at Osaka City University, Kwansei Gakuin
University and Doshisha Women's College. His speaking and listening classes always
included classroom productions of Shakespeare plays in simplified form.
Mr. Rice's hobbies include swimming and reading history and geography. He is an amateur
enthusiast of Shakespeare and Mozart. He is an advocate for disabled people in America
and around the world.
