I was born in Chicago, Illinois into an international family. My father was born in Poland and spoke six languages. My mother was born in Germany and spoke 4 languages. My sister was also born in Germany and spoke eight languages, while my two brothers were both born in Belgium and spoke three languages. I, on the other hand, speak only two: English and German. Actually, I learned how to speak German at home even before I learned English at school in Chicago. From my early experiences as a child, I developed a deep respect for people from other cultures. I have also always felt a strong connection to people who want to learn English. I know from firsthand experience how difficult it is to learn another language. When my family first came to America they did not speak any English at all! I have dedicated my professional life to helping students from around the world learn English for their university studies. I hope to see you in one of my classes so that I can help you too!
