A native Kansan, I was born and raised in Topeka. I attended the University of Kansas, where I received my BA in French and History. After teaching English in France for a year, I moved to California to work and study for several years. I then went to Japan to teach English, after which I completed my MA in English (TESL/TEFL) at San Francisco State University. When I finished my degree, I went to Eastern Europe, to Hungary, Croatia, and Slovenia, to teach English and to work as a teacher trainer for the Soros Foundation and the United States Information Service. Before moving to K-State in 2011, I was living and working in the Kansas City area. I taught in both the adult education and academic programs at Johnson County Community College and Kansas City Kansas Community College. I am enjoying my students and work here at K-State, and I hope to make this my home for years to come.
