Carol Lemmons - Teaching Assistant
I grew up in the Kansas City area and lived most of my adult life in Topeka and Manhattan. My husband and I have 5 grown children and 6 grandchildren (so far!). I taught my children at home for 19 years ('homeschooling'). I also worked part-time as a nurse for many years in various settings. In 2005, my husband, 2 youngest children, and I moved to Hungary in eastern Europe. We all studied Hungarian for several years. While there, I taught English as a Second Language (ESL) in community classes to all ages of adults. I loved living and teaching there so much! When we moved back to Manhattan, I realized I needed a change from nursing as a career. I am currently pursuing a master's degree in Teaching English as a Foreign Language here at KSU. As well, I am a graduate teaching assistant in our ELP department. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with our family. I also like to read, walk, and sew baby quilts for my grandchildren. Having lived overseas, I can identify with those who also experience similar joys and challenges. I feel very much at home among internationals and enjoy getting to know and assist you to the best of my ability.
