Application Instructions

Last Name (Family Name):

Include all last names under which former records may be listed (i.e. other spellings or last names). This will ensure that academic credentials and application information is correctly matched and merged.

Social Security Number:

The social security number is used at K-State as your student identification number. K-State students have the option to decide whether or not to use the social security number. If you do not to use yours, we will assign you a nine digit number that will identify all your university records and student transactions.

Addresses:

The University requires at least one mailing address for official university purposes. You may choose to receive your mail at any address of your choice. If you wish to specify more than one address (i.e. if your parents address is different than yours) you may do that by adding address information as indicated in the application.  You must give us a street address and a telephone number if you want your documents expressed mailed to you.  Express mail will not deliver to a postal box.

High School:

The name and location (city/state) of your high school is important to identify your records and connect you to the correct school for certain programs and research data maintained by the university.

English Not Primary:

English is the language of instruction at K-State. All undergraduate students whose primary language is not English must show proficiency in English before being admitted. You may do this by submitting results from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), ACT English results of 23 or higher, completion of two standard Freshman English Composition courses from another college or university, or completion of the English Spoken and Written Assessment test offered by the K-State English Language Program.

Application Fee:

All  applicants are required a nonrefundable $50.00 application fee.

Colleges Previously Attended:

You are required to list ALL institutions you have previously attended. Official transcripts from each institution must be furnished upon application regardless of the applicant's wishes concerning use of previously earned credit. Official transcripts must be sent directly by mail or fax (785-532-6393) from the Registrar's Office of each institution previously attended to the Office of Admissions, Kansas State University, 119 Anderson Hall, Manhattan, KS 66506-0102.

If you earned college credit for course work completed while in high school, you should also have official transcripts of that work sent from the college or university that granted the credit. If you are applying for readmission, you only need to list the colleges you have attended since you last attended Kansas State University.
