English Language Program

History

The English Language Program (ELP) began as a year-round program in the fall of 1986 with 38 students under the direction of Enid Cocke. Initially, the program was housed in the Division of Continuing Education (now Global Campus). Since the 1990's the program has been housed administratively under the Office of International Programs. ELP courses are now offered through the College of Arts and Sciences. By the year 2010, annual ELP enrollment had increased to more than 400 students.

The English Language Program has been located in Fairchild Hall since its beginning.
