University General Education
Electronic Undergraduate Catalog
The electronic version
of the K-State Undergraduate Catalog can be a
useful online reference. A print version is available in advising offices on campus, in
public libraries throughout Kansas, and from the K-State Union and Varneys
bookstores. All new students receive a copy when they enroll.
Semester Course Schedules and Booklets
Semester Course Schedules provide online
information about courses offered during specific semesters. Courses that are closed are
clearly marked. The Course Schedule Booklet provides an array of relevant information,
including the format for the semester course schedules; procedures for admission,
enrollment and drop/add; and a final exam schedule.
University General Education
All undergraduate
curricula at Kansas State University require that students complete a minimum of 18 credit
hours of courses and experiences approved for University General Education (UGE). The
number of UGE credits required is adjusted for transfer students. Only credits taken at
KSU will meet UGE requirements. At least one-third of the credits must be at the 300-level
or above.
Each student must take responsibility
to consult with an advisor to determine which courses meet the UGE requirements of a
particular degree program. When planning to change majors, a student should consult
an advisor in the new field about UGE requirements.
Further information about UGE is
presented on the UGE Site.
A list of approved UGE courses gives a sense of the breadth available. Not
all of these courses are offered each semester, so it is important to check with an
advisor and the appropriate Semester Course Schedule.
