Philip Gayle is
currently an Assistant Professor of Economics. He received a Bachelor and
Master of Science degree in Economics from the University of the West
Indies, Mona, and an MA. and Ph.D. in Economics from the University of
Colorado, Boulder. Gayle was formerly employed as an economist to the
Jamaican Government’s Competition Agency (Fair Trading Commission).
Gayle’s
research has appeared in Money Affairs.
His research interests include working on microeconometric problems
that often involve estimating models with discrete and limited dependent
variables. Gayle’s recent research investigates theoretically and
empirically the relationship between market structure and innovation.
