Gormely is
Associate Professor of Economics. He has served as Director of Graduate
Studies and as Acting Head of the Department. While on leave, he served
for two years as Program Economist for U.S. Agency for International
Development in Nigeria. He has also been a Research Associate at Ireland's
Economic and Social Research Institute and has taught at Quad-i-Azam
University in Pakistan.
His research
has been published in
Economic and Social Review,
American Journal of Agricultural Economics,
Demography, Journal of
Economic and Social Measurement,
and
Food Policy. Current research includes measurement of
international differences in development and factors influencing
international transfers of technology.
