Building Process Update

In yet another twist to the story of ECM's transition from 1021 Denison Avenue to 904 Sunset Avenue, a consultation with architects, engineers and contractor in early April 2014 led to a decision to scrap plans to renovate and expand the existing building because of structural and cost concerns. We transitioned quickly into a plan to totally demolish the existing structure to make way for a new, +/- 5,700 square-foot campus ministry facility, The new building will feature a ministry center on the main floor with ample meeting space, kitchen, bathrooms, offices and fireplace lounge, and two four-bedroom apartments to serve Kansas State University students, one in the basement and one on the second floor.

The building was demolished in late May. As of now, the foundation has been laid, concrete poured and the plumbing installed. Late in 2014, we should have a roof over the building, and a (finally) a finished building worth all of our efforts sometime early 2015! Stay tuned!
