Students who demonstrate a need, based on their documentation, may request test taking accommodations. Students are responsible for discussing testing accommodations with their instructors.
Examples of testing accommodations include, but are not limited to:
DSS assists students with disabilities in arranging accommodations for tests that are part of required course work.
Students who are registered with DSS and have been approved for testing accommodations should follow these steps:
The DSS Testing Center is located in Holton Hall 203. It is open from 8:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Tests are typically administered at the regularly scheduled time, unless alternate arrangements are pre-approved by the instructor.
Students using the Testing Center are asked to arrive promptly at their scheduled time and bring any needed materials approved by the instructor, such as a calculator or blue book.
The Testing Center’s responsibility is to administer the exam. Students are asked to contact their instructor if they cannot take the test at the arranged time. Students should notify DSS three days in advance of any change in the test schedule. Changes must be with the permission of the instructor.
Beginning in the fall 1999 semester, Kansas State University initiated an Honor System based on personal integrity, which is presumed to be a sufficient assurance that, in academic matters, one's work is performed honestly and without unauthorized assistance.
Undergraduate and graduate students, when they register, acknowledge the jurisdiction of the K-State Honor System. The policies and procedures of the Honor System apply to all full and part-time students enrolled in undergraduate and graduate courses on-campus, off-campus, as well as on-line. A component vital to the Honor System is the inclusion of the Honor Pledge, which applies to all assignments, examinations, and other course work undertaken by students.
"On my honor, as a student, I have neither given nor received unauthorized aid on this academic work."
