The Disability Support Services (DSS) Shuttle Service is provided by the University for students with either a permanent or mobility-related disability or a temporary injury. The shuttle is equipped with a hydraulic lift and provides transportation on-campus. To receive the service, students must complete a ride schedule and provide documentation of their disability or injury.
When: Monday through Friday, 7:15 a.m. to 5:20 p.m. (last pick-up)
Where: On-campus only
Contact: 785-532-6441
Riders should complete an application and schedule listing regularly scheduled rides. You can click the following link to print off the form Application for Shuttle Service [PDF] or pick-up a form in our office at 202 Holton Hall.
The shuttle operates between buildings on campus only. Residence halls, Jardine Terrace, Lafene Health Center and Peters Recreation Complex are considered to be on campus. Sororities and fraternities are not campus buildings. We may arrange to meet students that do not live on campus at a designated location on campus for their initial pick-up (such as parking lots).
DSS operates the shuttle as a courtesy to students with disabilities. Shuttle riders with temporary injuries may ride when space is available.
The shuttle operates between the hours of 7:15 a.m. and 5:20 p.m. (last pick-up), Monday through Friday, when classes are in session. This does not include intersession or summer classes.
DSS cannot guarantee pick-up and drop-off times, though we will do our best to meet your needs.
Please remember, the success of the DSS Shuttle Service is dependent on the responsible actions of its riders. Being consistently late or not calling the DSS office to cancel rides may result in termination of service.
