This 2003 film, starring Cuba Gooding Jr. and Ed Harris, depicts the story of a high school coach and the developmentally challenged man whom he took under his wing. Directly following, there will be a post film discusstion.

Students, Faculty and Staff with disabilities are featured discussing their disabilities from various cultural backgrounds. The “PAAC” faculty/staff award will also be presented. Please submit nominations below.

“Walk For Awareness”

Saturday, March 12th, 1-3 pm
Presentation Ceremony to local Special Olympics 3-4pm (following event)
Memorial Stadium, K-State
Teams that signed up for  “Walk For Awareness” at the beginning of the Spring semester will demonstrate their support for disability awareness through walking laps at Memorial Stadium.  The total amount of donations raised will be presented to the local Special Olympics at a ceremony directly following the event. The team that raised the most money for the Special Olympics throughout the months of January and February will then be presented with a cash award.

 

K-State For All Faculty / Staff PAAC Award Nominations!

Nominate a Faculty or Staff member for the PAAC (Promoting An Accessible Campus) award. Nominate a faculty or staff member who has gone above and beyond their role to improve the experiences of people with disabilities here at K-State. A faculty/ staff member will receive an award for their excellence in service towards students during K-State For All! 2011. Nominations will be accepted until March 1, 2011.
