A student with a hearing impairment who wishes to use an assistive listening device (or FM listening system) in class may check out a device from the DSS office. Be aware that FM listening systems will not work with all types of hearing aids; the aid must have a jack that will accept the FM listening system plug.
Prior to requesting to check out an assistive listening device from the DSS office, students should register with DSS; please see our guidelines for documenting a hearing impairment for more information.
Assistive listening devices are also available for use at Bramlage Coliseum, McCain Auditorium, Nichols Theater, and the K-State Union.
