Standards for Effective Complaint Resolution Procedures
Our Policy Prohibiting Sexual Harassment reflects the following standards for complaint resolution:
Notice of the procedure, include how and where complaints can be filed.
A prompt opportunity for the complainant to present allegations, including the opportunity to identify witnesses and other possible evidence.
A prompt notification to the respondent of the allegations and an opportunity to respond to the allegations, including an opportunity to present witnesses and other evidence.
A prompt, thorough and impartial investigation that protects the confidentiality of the complaint, respondent and any witnesses, to the extent possible.
Notice to the parties of the outcome of the complaint.
An assurance that steps will be taken to prevent recurrence and retaliation, and remedy the effects of the harassment, if appropriate.
