Constituent Development
KSU Foundation

The ongoing development programs at Kansas State University Foundation are based on the principle that the vast majority of alumni are most likely to connect with their respective constituencies. Therefore, the majority of the development staff at the Foundation is organized according to the nine academic colleges, with some staff dedicated to special constituencies and major University projects.

There are Directors of Development for each of the nine Colleges, plus development representatives for the Center for Basic Cancer Research, Hale Library, Multicultural constituencies, and also the Alumni Center Campaign. Four Colleges, Agriculture, Arts and Sciences, Engineering and Human Ecology have an additional staff member working on behalf of that College.

Each Director works closely with the Dean of his/her college or unit. On a day-to-day basis the Directors of Development report to the Director of Constituent Development.

The Directors of Development are responsible for planning and implementing all fund-raising programs for their assigned colleges and units in concert with the overall comprehensive development plan for the University. The Directors work closely with other members of the Foundation staff including the directors of Annual Giving, Research, Corporations and Foundations, Scholarship Campaign and Planned Giving to develop the most effective fund-raising program for that College or unit.

The Directors of Development are the primary people in charge of all donors and prospects with potential giving of $10,000 or more to that unit.
