  1. Can you pick up and deliver computers on campus?
    Yes, during normal business hours. General response time is one day.
  2. Can you fix my home computer?
    Yes. We can now repair personally owned machines for people affiliated with K-State as well as departmental equipment.
  3. Can you build a new computer for me?
    Yes, for K-State departments, but not for individuals due to FCC restrictions.
  4. Do you work on Macintosh computers?
    Yes. We also do Macintosh warranty repairs and service, and sell parts and software.
  5. I want to buy a new computer. What do you recommend?
    We don't provide individual recommendations because computer technology changes rapidly. K-State has minimum recommendations for students buying PCs and Macs; see Buying a computer for college.

Technology Service Center

The Technology Service Center in Computing and Telecommunications Services provides computer and peripheral repair services to the campus community.

Services

  1. PC and Macintosh maintenance and repair, plus repair of printers, monitors, and peripherals
  2. Building new, customized desktop PCs and servers
  3. Warranty repairs and authorized service on Dell, Gateway and Apple Macintosh computers
  4. Server maintenance and repair (Microsoft Windows NT/2000/2003, Novell NetWare)
  5. Sales and installation of individual parts and software
  6. PC and printer repairs for the university computing labs and the K-State InfoCommons
  7. Pick-up and delivery service available for university departments

Rates

For university-owned computers, the standard labor rate is $40 per hour.
For personally owned computers, the labor rate is $55 per hour.
For server maintenance and repair, the charge is $65 per hour.
Staff are available for emergencies outside normal business hours at $90 per hour.

One customer-parking space is located at the south end of East Stadium for CTS customers. The other nearest parking spaces are in the K-State Student Union and West Stadium parking lots.
