Mindfulness: Learning How to Live in the Present Moment. 

The presentation will provide a brief introduction to mindfulness theory and techniques. The focus will be on mindfulness as a coping strategy for negative emotions and stress. Time Management in College: Learning How to Take Control of Your Time and Energy

Are you struggling to balance the demands of school, work, and a social life? Or maybe you find yourself regularly waiting until the last minute to finish tasks and assignments. Come join us to learn skills related to time management, procrastinating, and prioritizing.

Assertiveness –finding your own voice!

  • Understand your "rights" and "responsibilities" as a foundation for your having a voice
  • Quickly assess your own (and others) current "behavioral stance" and communication style
  • Identify your barriers to being assertive, and
  • Learn ways to be "responsibly assertive"!

Introduction to Nonviolent Communication

This presentation will address communication styles and introduce the principles of nonviolent communication (NVC).  NVC asserts that we can assert our needs and make requests in ways that are effective using empathy and compassion for ourselves and those we're communicating with.  If you're interested in learning ways to improve your communication with others, you may find this presentation helpful to you.
