Counseling Services


To be seen for an urgent appointment during our business hours, please call or stop by our office and let us know that you are in crisis. We are open Mondays-Fridays from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (8:00 a.m. – noon and 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. in the summer) when the university is open. When we are closed, mental health consultation is available at any time by calling our office number (785-532-6927).

If you are in immediate crisis and one of the following applies to you:

  • You feel you are in immediate danger of harming yourself
  • You feel you are in immediate danger of harming someone else
  • 911 and ask for help
  • National Suicide Prevention Lifeline 1-800-273-TALK (1-800-273-8255)
  • The Trevor Lifeline (Suicide Prevention for LGBTQ Youth) 866-4-U-TREVOR (1-866-488-7386)
