About K-State eIDsEvery K-State student and employee has a free eID. Potential K-Staters and others may also register for a K-State eID (see Eligibility for a K-State eID).Your eID becomes part of your K-State e-mail address (eID@ksu.edu). It's protected by a password that must NOT be shared. Student and employee eIDs are given access to resources that include:

PasswordsPasswords for all K-State eIDs (including group eIDs) must be changed twice a year, each fall and spring semester. See the Password FAQs for details. To change your password, go to the eid.k-state.edu website.Student eIDsAn overview of things students need to know is in Using e-mail and your K-State eID.Employee eIDsFaculty and staff must select an eID after their employment papers are processed. Those who need one earlier should have their unit's personnel officer follow instructions from Human Resources.Special Access eIDsThose who are not K-State students or employees, but are associated with the university in a manner that furthers the mission of K-State, may be eligible for access to IT resources. See the K-State eID Policy's section on eligibility. If approved, the Special Access recipient must self-register an eID, and the department personnel officer must complete the Request for a K-State Special Access eID.Group accountsA group account functions just like an individual eID, with its own e-mailbox and disk space. To re-enable it, a Group Account Form must be resubmitted. People Directory informationStudents, faculty, and staff should be aware that unless otherwise restricted or unlisted, information about them -- including their name, phone, local/campus address, and e-mail address -- is published in the Campus Phone Book, the K-State People Directory online, and possibly other venues.
