Web Site Design Committee: March 7, 2000 Minutes
Members Present: Jonas Heinrich, Melinda Sinn, Neil Erdwien, George
Brandsberg, John Fairman, Victoria L’Ecuyer, Linda Johnson, Derek
Lustig, Olivia Collins, Pat Bosco, John Johnson, Bill Richter, Janelle
Esau, and John Murray
The focus of the meeting was a review of the draft/revised K-State web
page (REWEB-1)
the revision may be viewed at:

The general discussion was focused on the goals that we set for our web
design:
- clean, friendly appearance
- consistent, user-friendly navigation
- external focus
- information intense
- universally accessible
- fast opening page
There followed, intense discussion of these issues
Most favored the listing of audiences on the page and suggested two
modifications:
- add "For" at the beginning of the list
- add "Donors" to the list
With regard to Directories:
- add "Kats"
- change name from Directories to "Resources"
- move quick search to this area of the page
With regard to style:
- Keep open and uncluttered style
- Think about alternative pictures or formats
With regard to structure/content
- Keep the tripartite emphasis on structure, product, customers
- Remove "Computing" and replace with "Campus Life"
