    MEMBERS PRESENT: Bill Richter, Donald Crawford, Linda Johnson, John Johnson, Roger McHaney, Victoria L’Ecuyer, Jonas Einrich, Neil Erdwien, Janelle Esau, Melinda Sinn, Bert Biles, Gary Rabold, John Murray.

    Discussion continued on the nature of the opening page for the K-State website. Several universities were mentioned as possible models--Cornell and U. Mass-Boston. Following visits to the various sites and further discussion of the potential audiences/user needs, it was agreed that we would develop several examples of possible opening pages--minimalist, graphics-rich, information-rich, etc.

    ACTION: Janelle Esau and Neil Erdwien will develop sample opening pages for review at our next meeting on March 1st. [Rescheduled for March 7th.]

    Discussionof progress on addressing the outcomes of the Website Design Committee was focused on the fact that we have only five more Regular meetings of the committee (March 1, 15, 29 and April 12, 26) with the possibility of a Wrap-Up Meeting on May 10th.

    ACTION: All members need to develop contributions to the final report that will address four outcomes: a.) the structure of the website; b.) criteria for evaluating website design; c.) suggested design for the page; d.) identification of audiences for the page

    Withregard to audiences, there was further discussion of Neil Erdwien’s schema identifying eight audiences: Prospective students; Current students; Alumni and friends; Faculty and Staff; Campus Visitors; Community; Business and Industry; Sports fans.

    Next Meeting: Wednesday, March 1st. [Rescheduled for March 7th.]
