The Colombian Association of Kansas State University (CAKSU), a recognized student organization in KSU, is starting a series of educational presentations, given by members
of the community who are of Latin American origin, and directed to students, faculty and members of our community in general.
Our purpose is to showcase the contributions in different fields of knowledge to the local and global community by individuals working at Kansas State University’s diverse research
activities. For our first presentation of the semester on November 18th, PhD. Student Vanessa Segovia from Colombia will talk about “Unraveling the secrets of wheat leaf rust infection:
The Identification of effectors in Puccina triticina-Wheat system”. Her research in the field of plant pathology has a direct effect in many aspects of the everyday economical activities
here in Kansas, and in many other locations around the world.
We would like to invite you to attend this special event and to support our initiative to establish an academic dialog on campus which will give valuable professional experience to all participants.
