K-State IT policies apply to the use of CNS resources, as do all applicable K-State policies and procedures and all federal, state, and local laws.

Eligibility

Free, central computing IDs -- called K-State eIDs -- are assigned to K-State students, employees, and selected others, including students who have enrolled at K-State but are not yet taking classes. An eID is for an individual's use, and is not to be shared with others. Using another's eID is prohibited. For more about eIDs and passwords, see these resources:

eIDs

eIDs are 3-8 characters long. They are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. A fee is charged for changing an eID; see the CNS charges for services. For more details, see the eID Frequently Asked Questions.

Passwords

Passwords for eIDs are 6-8 alphanumeric characters in length. They must be changed twice a year, near the beginning of each fall and spring semester. Passwords must not be shared with others. For more details, see the Password Frequently Asked Questions.
