I was born in Ottawa, KS. I started my family later in life after getting out of the Air Force and nursing school. Our oldest daughter is an attorney in Portland, Oregon and our youngest works as a before/after school coordinator for the YMCA of Greater KC. My husband works for Martin Marietta.
After high school I joined the U.S. Air Force. I was accepted into the Security Service and given a top secret clearance and assigned overseas. After getting out I lived in Baltimore Md until 1978. I was divorced and moved back to Kansas At that time I went to nursing school in Emporia Ks. My nursing career ended after a serious injury in 1990. I came to work at the College of Veterinary Medicine in April 2000 as a Keyboard Operator. I am in the Veterinary Diagnostic Lab Office as a Senior Administrative Assistant. I enjoy this job mostly because I feel like I can still have some contact with the medical field...just with animals instead of humans.
Gardening is my therapy. I just wish we had the climate to do it year round. I have a small garden now compared to what we had when our girls were growing up. I am also a birdwatcher and live in the country and enjoy wildlife viewing. I do different crafts now and then but seem to get bored with that stuff now!! I love camping and want to retire and travel around in an RV.
