Tracy Ivy

Short Biography:

I was born in Ft. Bragg Military hospital in North Carolina. I have lived in Manhattan, Kansas and Duluth, Kansas most of my life. I'm a military brat having grown up in an Army family. My father is a disabled veteran from the Vietnam War. My parents currently reside in Manhattan. I have three other siblings, an older brother, Thomas and sister, Crystal and a younger brother, Timothy. My older sister works here on campus as an accountant for the Biochemistry Department, my older brother works for Ballard's in Kansas City as their graphics artist and my younger brother is disabled. I married my husband Steve and bought his grandfather's house in Duluth, Kansas. Call us the Brady bunch, together we have six children. We have four grandchildren Trenton, Kameron, Colby and Christian. They keep us very busy. My husband Steve has had multiple strokes in the last year and has a medical retirement.

Brief Work History:

Right out of school I was office manager for Agricultural Resources and Communication in Wamego, Kansas. After four years there it was time to find a job with insurance benefits and I started at KSU in the Horticulture, Forestry and Recreation Resource department. My position was transferred to Olathe, Kansas and I didn't want any more travel time so I found my position in the College of Architecture, Planning & Design as an Administrative Specialist to the Department Head of Architecture.

Personal Interests:

I love to garden whether its vegetables or flowers. My kid's sports activities are an important part of our family routine. We also, as a family, go arrowhead hunting and fishing. I also can my own vegetables.
