I was born in Topeka, Kansas and spent my childhood years in the small towns of Burlingame, Zeandale and Wamego. In 1970 I graduated from Wamego High School and then in 1975 I received a BA degree in Secondary Education/English from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside.
I have been with the College of Business - Department of Marketing since 2003.
My husband and I have hosted 9 high school foreign exchange students and this year we are hosting Merle, a student from Germany. I am thrilled that Edgars, our foreign exchange student from Latvia whom we hosted during the 2005-2006 school year, is now attending K-State. In July of 2007, we traveled to Europe and visited 4 of our former exchange students. In the spring of 2010 we plan to travel to Brazil to attend the college graduation of Anderson who lived with us during the 2002-2003 school year. When people ask me why I host, I tell them that I am working toward world peace one student at a time.
