People

We are ranked in the top group of Ph.D.-awarding departments of chemistry in the United States, and we have a fine faculty consistantly honored by national and inter-national awards and recognition. Our younger faculty have been recognized by prestigious national awards such as NSF CAREER Awards.

But all of the statistics wouldn’t mean anything without the people who make up our faculty, staff and student body. Our department is one where close interactions occur between faculty, students and staff, with all playing a full part in its activities. Our department provides an excellent environment for the individual and collective pursuit of scholarship in chemistry. The departmental research groups cover a wide range of areas in the chemical sciences where you can explore many possibilities offered by a degree in Chemistry for today's world.
