Senior Scientific Glassblower Jim Hodgson has been chosen as the 2009 recipient of the J. Allen Alexander Award, given by the American Scientific Glassblowers Society in recognition of outstanding contributions in furthering the aims and ideals of the ASGS. This award follows close on his receipt of the Andrews Glass Award, recognizing Jim for the best technical presentation at the 2008 ASGS Symposium. Both of these awards will be presented at the 2009 ASGS Symposium in Vancouver, WA.
Jim has served the ASGS in multiple roles, notably as National Treasurer, Committee Chair, President-Elect and President. All of us appreciate Jim and his exquisite scientific craftsmanship – clearly his peers in the ASGS do also. Congratulations, Jim!
