June 9-10, 2017
Kansas State University - Manhattan, KS
You are invited to contribute to the Midwest Organic Solid State Chemistry Symposium XXVII which will be held June 9 and 10 at the Kansas State University, in Manhattan, Kansas. The charter of MOSSCS is to provide opportunities to exchange ideas and research results pertaining to the organic solid state in an informal atmosphere, with an emphasis on presentations by graduate students and postdoctoral associates. There will also be invited lectures on topics of current interest.
Reports of research on organic materials dealing with crystal engineering, mixed crystals, polymorphism, solid-state synthesis and reactivity, host-guest chemistry, crystal growth, optical behavior, transport properties, mechanical properties, pharmaceuticals, molecular recognition, critical behavior, and related properties are commonly presented at the MOSSCS. The MOSSCS community also embraces contributions from research topics that focus on soft materials, biomaterials, organic-inorganic hybrids, in the context of all aspects of supramolecular chemistry and crystal engineering.
In honor of the retirement of Prof. Curtin and his contributions to solid-state chemistry, the first MOSSCS was held in 1988 at the University of Illinois. Subsequent meetings are rotated among universities and industrial sites in the Midwest. For more information, please see http://mosscs.org/ We are looking forward to meeting you in Manhattan this June.
