Giving to the Department

The Chemistry Department is proud of our traditions of excellence in the classroom, the research laboratory, and in service to the profession and our communities. Our many friends and alumni are key partners who help us enrich our programs for students and faculty. Such support is highly-valued and is crucial in this era of diminishing state funding for higher education.

There are several avenues by which you can contribute to our mission. We have established a Chemistry Alumni Advisory Council: this group of distinguished individuals from business, industry, government, and academic pursuits provides leadership and advice to the department on ways to strengthen our programs, improve our facilities, benefit our students, and expand our base of support. You are cordially welcome to become involved; please write or call Eric Maatta for details.

The Department is fortunate to have a number of funds that are supported by our alumni and friends. These funds are managed by the KSU Foundation and are dedicated to Undergraduate Scholarships, Graduate Student Support, and General Purpose Departmental Support. Two particularly important funds are The Chemistry Fund (F20400) and the Alumni Graduate Fellowship Fund (F56770): the former is our all-around fund for departmental enhancement, while the latter is newly-instituted with great support from the Alumni Advisory Council and is intended to supplement stipends for outstanding graduate students.
