Winter Dance '09. 7:30 p.m. Dec. 3-5, 2:30 p.m. Dec. 5, Nichols Theatre. Join the KSU Dance faculty and students as they present an exciting evening of dance in the intimate Nichols Theatre. Jazz, tap, modern dance and ballet will be showcased in original dance pieces choreographed by faculty, advanced students and a professional guest artist. Talented K-State students majoring in dance as well as various disciplines across campus will perform. This popular winter concert sells out every year, so get your tickets early. Fifty brides flee to Italy in an effort to escape marrying their fifty cousins in this modern twist on a Greek play, "The Suppliant Women" by Aeschylus. Chaos arises when the grooms soon follow after. "Big Love" examines the themes of gender politics and the search for true love. Be prepared to experience a grand wedding reception. Set in Texas in 1948, this hilarious opera follows Tom and Tallulah Carter, wealthy owners of the Double T Ranch, and the many guests of the ranch. Supposed identities and attempted revenge fill this opera, based on the farce "A Flea in Her Ear" by Feydeau.
