Lecture: The Philosophy of Design: The Structural Engineer's Role in Creating New Architecture by William F. Baker. 4:30 p.m., Forum Hall, Leadership Studies Building. Throughout Baker's distinguished career, he has dedicated himself to structural innovation. His best-known contribution has been to develop the "buttressed core" structural system for the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, the world's tallest manmade structure. Free and open to the public.

Film Screening: More than a Month. 7 p.m., Town Hall Room, Leadership Studies Building. Filmmaker Shukree Hassan Tilghman sets off on a cross-country campaign to end Black History Month. His tongue-in-cheek journey explores the complexity and contradictions of relegating an entire group’s history to one month in a so-called "post-racial" America. Free and open to the public.
